I used to smoke maybe 1/2 pack a day at max. My smoking was always kind of limited since I never did it in the house or around the kids, or in wifey's car, etc.

But over the last 2 years or so the only time I do is at band functions, practice or a gig. And that's the worst time of all since I have to sing too.

I've gone for a month or more without, not really conciously quitting but just no opportunity. And than we'll have a practice and I'll smoke again. Our drummer and guitarist smoke so that's when I'm tempted.

It's a hard thing. More power to all of you. It's been 1 1/2 weeks since I had one but we have a gig tonight...

Save the cost of the former habit where you can see it. Use the huge cash for gear, vacation, you can figure it out.

Good on you. Best vibes for massive success from a metro Chicago quitter.

Good luck to all the quitters! I smoked 1 1/2 packs a day for about 14 years. Smoked my last one in May of 2004, coming up on 5 years without cigarettes. The first 6 months is a bear, but hang in there and you'll make it just fine.

I'm a few hours shy of one week without a smoke! WOOT!!!

Ninja, have you tried the nicorette inhalator's.
They worked for me, with gallon's of strong coffee and I was a 60+ a day man for many year's.
See your doc, you can get them on prescription, work's out pretty cheap, I tried all the other stuff and they didn't work for me but these did.
Hang in there man, give 'em a go.

Cheers fella's. I tried patches in 96 and found them to be a constant reminder rather than a replacement to ween myself off with. I'd cut down at the time to 5 a day. I went onto the patch's and soon rose back up to 20. I never tried the inhalator, i'll pop to the chemist tommorow.
