When I quit back in 95 I went cold turkey. I said to myself that I refuse to let something like cigs.beat my human will because I was stronger then that. I am not weak as to let a bad habbit win the battle. A pack + a day to none, no problem and now better for it as you will be. You can do it!!!!

I quit smoking just over 4 years ago now, using the inhalers. They are good, I smoked heavily for about 40 years. So much so, I now have COPD.
In the time I have stopped, I have been able to buy 3 more Fender guitars, 6 Gibson, 2 Burns, a Gretsch, Ibanez and Fernandes, plus 2 Marshall amps. A pc, a tv and various other bits and pieces. Oh yes !! I was a heavy drinker as well and kicked that.
So that shows what you can do, I hope reading this helps you along.
Good luck and treat yourself with the money you save, it help's keep you going. :D

Good luck. Go cold turkey, it's much more fun. Starve that nicotine monster till he's dead! Anything you feed him will make him grow back stronger.

Alternatively: whack on the patches before you go to bed and wait for some amazing dreams! And it's all legal!

Good luck. I quit 6 years ago and feel so much better. Not to mention the money I save. Almost 5 bucks a pack is insane.

What you can do is whenever you feel like smoking grab those 5 bucks and put them in a money can and in no time you will have enough to get a new strat and then you will say "I could have had more strats with all the money I wasted in cigarretes " :D

Are you quiting : Cold Turkey, Using the Patch, or Using Meds?

patches, nicotine gum and sheer will power! I've tried welbutrin and chantix in the past but the side effects were too much. Send all the MOJO u can muster Chet, I'll appreciated every bit of it! 8)

smoked a pack and a half a day for the last 15 years. I really love my cigs, but I can feel the negative effects they have had on my health. So its time!

I appreciate the support! 9 hours and counting

What i've been doing is everytime I want a smoke I make myself do 15 push ups. Not sure how long that will last, but after the 50th set I was too tired to think about smoking.

I used a box of nicotene gum when I quit but I only chewed a piece if I absolutely had too. Most of the time I chewed a sugar free gum until I couldn't take it anymore. It took about a year in total for all of the cravings to go away but now I don't miss it at all and the smell of it actually turns my stomach.
Hang in there because it is well worth it.

I wish wild dreams was the only issue I had with it. It made me so apathetic I didnt leave the house for the 6 weeks I took it. 2 days after I got off of it I was at the store buying a carton.
