Stay motivated! You will be much healthier if you quit smoking. Not to mention the money you'll save not buying cigarettes anymore.

Best of luck to you. It's a tough thing to do, but the longer you can hold out the easier it gets. Just remember this, if you stumble, give in, and "cheat", all your past suffering was for naught. See how many days you can go without smoking. If you cheat, the count goes back to zero. Just make the count keep going up.

I wish you the best of luck!!! I quit in February of 2004. It is awesome. Just look at it like learning the guitar, at the beginning it really sucks, but the longer you go, it is SO worth it!!!

Good Luck!!!!

The BEST of luck to you! :)

After about 30 years of smoking - I quit in 1995.
Be aware that there is a least two things to break.
The addiction, and the habit.

Just remember - others have done this, and you can too.

After your body cleans out the tar and nicotine from your system, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel. And at how much better things will taste and smell again. This can take some time, depending on how long you smoked.

Again - GOOD LUCK and don't give up the fight.

Depending on how heavy your habit was, be prepared to cough up some gnarly gray matter, but stay strong...Its getting to be about $6 a pack everywhere, and I am quitting because I am tired of being overly taxed to pay for new programs that they cannot find the money for elsewhere..."We need more money for whatever, just make the smokers pay for it..." Enough is enough, I like to smoke, but I don't like pay for things other people want, but I don't care about...

Hey FenderCats-

My Quit Day is April 13th- I'll be there in the trenches with you buddy. The tax's....my health...my kids health... it is all worth it.

Think of this...when you want a smoke..play your guitar. Replace the bad habit with a good one....

The Freeze

Smoking is one habit I am glad I never picked up. it is weird, cus my whole family smoked, except my brother and I,) and a lot of my friends did.

One thing that worked as a motivator for a friend of mine(who stopped smoking after 20years, and been off it for almost 10 years now!) was to open a new bank account, he had it so he couldn't withdraw with his bank card,) and he would deposit the price of a pack and a half of smokes per day(the amount he smoked, I guess,) of his pay period. he then kept an eye on the balance. he ended up buying a really nice bass, and amp. he said having the money separate from his other finances, and out of easy reach to withdraw, made it easy to track what he had been wasting, and it was a good motivator to stay off the tobacco.
