Our brains works for us by filling in the blanks or incorrect material, letters/sound/visual field. An experiment I saw once was a guy reading a text and on purpose would skip a few vowels. When he told the people what he just did, everyone agreed that they didn't realise it while they were hearing but when it was pointed to them after, they remembered not hearing these vowels but following the lecture would make them concentrate on the meaning of the text and help patching the missing sounds. 8)

As I was thinking it over, it came to me that life threatening problems can emerge from a situation like this, when the brain reckognise enough data to skip to the next piece of information. When court witnesses are asked " did you see the suspect do this or that" ? Missing parts from the memory can be patched by the brain because it is trained from birth to do just that, use the less possible energy and be ready for more challenge. The brain likes to play and be entertained. When you hear a guitarist fighting with a predictable boring solo, the brain switch over for more challenge and suddenly you find yourself looking at that chick over there. Well the point is, more awareness is good, because leave it to the brain to bring us trouble sometimes. Interesting topic, tknahs cvilleira. 8)
Claude.

It is good of you to have taken it upon yourself to have made that observation, thus relieving the rest of the group of an unpleasant task which we, heretofore, have been hard pressed to undertake. Thus done, we can turn our attention to matters of a more serious nature.
