What I'm listening to right now may qualify.
A lot of it is the old Gospel music I grew up on. It takes me back to a happier time. :)

Besides the vocals, a lot of piano, organ, mandolin, violin, a guitar rarely and even a harmonica a time or two. :)

If you would like to listen, it's at;

Traditional and non-fusion-based modern jazz, classical music in general, particularly chamber music. Big bands, though many of them had a guitarist, though often used in strictly a rhythm role.

That would be orchestral, chamber, organ, piano, harpsichord, etc.

Bach, Buxtehude, and others.

I also went through a Flash & the Pan period--Remember Hey St Peter, etc?

I'll listen to some classical music, Jazz and Bluegrass. I'm not sure if bluegrass counts since guitars are involved but it depends on the song. I'll also enjoy some good acapella songs from time to time.

Bluegrass with its use of Banjo's , Fiddles, Mondo's is getting no Love here.

bros the 'james gang recorded two acappella songs on the two albums with tommy bolin , there are a couple of 'my girl's on different temptations greatest hits compilations , i also noticed no mention of industrial (it is noisy but some of it is almost songlike or melodic) and the old electronic stuff; lords of acid , kmfdm , oakenfold , beasties , prodigy , crystal method , 69 Boyz , Southern Playas , and the beat goes on on on on on ..................

Glad you liked it. I toured with her last fall as her bass player (and Meritas - who she sings with as well). Great girl, very talented, and a lot of fun. I might do a show or two with her again when I go so Portugal and Spain next year.
