There seems to be a few Christian Rock guys in this Forum.

Personally I was raised as a Catholic and now I just believe in all thats good and bad privately in my own way and love my music.... anyway, to the point:

I was just wondering if anyone uses Fender Instruments to worship any other religions out there that aren't Christian or if anyone plays in any political kind of bands maybe?

I just play hard rock and rock n' roll and blues..... was just curious.

Cheers

CC

Twelve years of Catholic school. The old school type, where nuns would kick your $@! in a heartbeat. I'm still very Catholic, but not a fanatic about it. I've never played in church, but I've thought about it. Every time I've looked into it, I wasn't impressed with the people I would play with, or with the attitude of some, so I haven't - at least not yet.

I'm also very Buddhist, which to me is more of a philosophy and way of life than a "pray to someone" religion. I've played and written traditional Indian and Japanese music as well. Love, love, love the Yoshido Brothers, but they're a very "modern" traditional. Check out...

I've played a lot of Hindi music (girlfriend's from India), and played with a bandmate at her Jewish temple as well. Very cool.

That is cool. Was just reading your reply to one of my other posts and I recommended an album you may like.

CC , bro when i saw this post i remembered this part of a song (not trying to engage) " the oak sleeps in the acorn , the giant sequoia tree sleeps in its tiny seed , the bird waits in the egg , god waits for his unfoldment in man , be careful of the thought seeds you plant in the garden of your mind because seeds will grow after their kind , any thought felt as true or allowed to be accepted as true by your conscious mind takes root in your subconscious and blossoms sooner or later into an act which bears its own fruit , good thoughts bring forth good fruit , bullshit thoughts will rot your meat , think right and you can fly , the kingdom of heaven is within , free your mind and your $@! will follow " .

CC , bro , i'm pretty sure it's the funkadelic , parliament doppleganger , off their 'standing on the verge of getting it on' album , the song may take up all of side two "good thoughts , bad thoughts" .

Haven't listened to them since my stoner days! I'll have a listen.

The Buddhist way is pretty amazing, I spent four days with The Dali lama a few years back. It was all about teachings on meditation, I didn't take a guitar with me though

What fascinates me about entire process is the fact that rock music and it's precursors were considered an anethema in those quarters. It's interesting to note which saved which in that regard.

Music is the thread borne by the Great Creator - religion of any type is simply the vehicle for the notes.....................

I've heard the Catholic priests were banned from shopping at Kmart. I guess a lot of them shopped there because Kmart had little boys pants half-off.
