Being made in the US doesn't necessarily mean it's better.

I don't think you'll find a model like that that is U.S. made. Even the Cyber Series amps are made in Mexico.

I would guess it would be a significant difference in price. There is a big difference in what it costs to do business here and manufacture something compared to other countries.

I think, not positive, the silverface and blackface are still made in US.
So go look at any form the vintage ri series but check the backplate to make sure where it really was made.

No whiz bang solid state on them, amps with the SS toy features are foreign made.
And they can keep them too :D

Why then does the latter blues junior made in mexico outperform the older usa made ones in every way then.

keep in mind, Fender (and any other company) doesn't have things built in other countries "just because". of course they're rather do it here. but for some things (the lower end lines, etc), they have them built in other countries because they do it cheaper. and cheaper for fender, means cheaper for you.

hence the MIM line. not made there "just because". it was for the sole purpose of cutting corners and making a strat that's still good, but cheaper than they can make it here. a lot of things were changed on it, some corners were cut and the work is cheaper, so that means the price is cheaper.

if you're not worried about the price of an amp, and want something good, get a top of the line fender or a mesa boogie.

you want something cheap? there's a reason its so cheap.
