Hey FenderHeads-

Just thought it would be an interesting thread.....

Does Your Significant other (Wife, Husband, Boyfriend/Girlfriend) Support your musical aspirations ? Do they support the time you spend practicing and or at gigs....the band groupies?, the $$$ on equipment???

My wife is a good sport about it all. She doesn't complain when I have a gig or rehearsal however I think she really doesn't like my bands music (Classic Rock/Blues)- She is a groupie of another "Major Band" and has just returned from a 1 week, 3 Concert run of her band in California.

Just interested in hearing what you all have going on...

Yes and no. She hates the loud practices, but doesn't seem to complain when I buy gear, within reason.

My wife is so-so. She grumbles a little, but always has a good time at gigs. Doesn't so much support buying much other than strings etc.

My wife made me drive 40 miles so she could buy me my first Strat in 20 years last March. Kinda says it all doesn't it? She's black and beautiful, makes soulful sounds when I stroke her just right, screams when the mood strikes her just right. The guitar I mean

She'll give me props for my guitar playing, but makes fun of my face when I solo -- actually she makes fun of every guitar player's face when they solo. That ... and she says my singing sucks, which it does ...

Ha! She supports the music but not the dollars spent on some of the gear or the lack of dollars coming in from it. She understands, but she doesn't like it.

Boy have I heard that before. That and "Why do you need more than one guitar? You can only play one at a time."

My wife is great when it comes to this, I must say. Ironically, she doesn't particularly care for my tastes in music but she's totally supportive of me.

My Wife encourages me to play and doesn't complain too much when I want new gear.

My wife is very supportive....even helps carry my gear.

Especially come the end of a gig and she wants to get home and I'm still rambling on with others.
