Nerd-prep-jock(lite) hybrid.

Tho they were called "brains" and "collegiates" back then and there. Thank you for the amusing memory-nudge.

most people on my school know me as the "Session Musician" simply becouse they know if they need anyone to play anything they can ask me and I'll play with them....
wich is a great way to play new styles that i don't usualy play some poeple need me for Metal and some need me for pop, and I think it is all fun ofcourse :)

I graduated (barely) as captain of the football team, (I wasn't that good - they just didn't have anyone else that year) and was going out with the head of the cheerleaders. People have a tendency to roll their eyes and puke when they hear that but you know what?...I LOVED IT!!!

Ahhhhhhhh!

Hmm. I was a long hair, party guy, who played on 3 school teams, had a high grade average, played in a band, and had a job. Don't know where to even start putting myself. I had friends from the stoner/metallica crowd, spiky haired preppy friends, jock friends, etc.

It's funny because you don't need to fit into any one stereotype, unless you choose to put yourself there. If you're not a dick, you can usually get along with almost everyone else who isn't one.

I choose other because I was part of a group of "crazy band kids" in high school. There were three of us that actually left school three days a week at lunch and ditched our fifth period class so we could reherse with a band that played on the strip. Back then most of the music was still live and not the canned cr@p they use now. I learned a lot from those guys and would not change a thing if I could do it again even though we did get in trouble for it.

I just tried to be myself. I really didn't care what others thought of me.
In my Junior (11th Grade) year my friend and I would take our guitars and play at several places that others went to lunch at.
Just before my Senior (12th Grade) year I joined the U.S.A.F. and went away.

CAF , bro , U.S.A.F. +1 , musicians in general in school seemed lucky and if you were good , the rest is history .

I was a combination of rock star and psycho. As a matter of fact, that's how I got the handle, "Martian". The 'stuff' I used to come up with and/or do caused one of my friends to say that I was, "gone" (in the head) and "totally out of this world" in my thought process. He said I had to be a, "(expletive) Martian or something." Everyone latched onto that statement and the name stuck.

I was a cigarette smoking, soccer jock, cheerleader, who played the violin in the orchestra. Who hung out with the “in” crowd, practiced violin with the nerds, and partied with the dopers. I even got caught smoking in my cheerleading uniform in the girls bathroom and was suspended from a game. I was voted most popular and most likely not to succeed. I was everything I wanted to be! Still am.

Yeah, right. Segmenting into well-defined social units is something only United States human beings do.

Clearly, football and GNR records have given you a clear understanding of the world in which you live.

I'm being serious.............. I went to school in Belfast, there were no geeks or jocks or anything (Americanisms by the way!). Everyone was just normal, here in Europe you can be a 'geek' AND like sports as nearly everyone, smart or stupid likes football, rugby etc.

It was also during the troubles here in Belfast.......... a different world methinks.

But yeah, geeks, jocks etc is very much an American thing and those terms originate in the States. I'm not havin a go, I'm quarter American and proud.

Now, now, be nice.

The 'collegiates' (ancestral lineage of 'preps') were kids in the 'college prep' curriculum rather than (back then) 'general' or 'vocational.'
