I was just wondering what string gauge most people prefer. I'm happy with anything between .10's or .12's.

I'm kind of like Chet. I use 9s on one and 10s on the rest! :)

I have 9's on both of my Fenders but I'm going to try 10's when I build my Warmoth.

On my Fender I play Fender Super Bullets 9-48's. On my ESP I play D'Addario XL 9-48's.

I played with 10's and 11's on my guitars before, but prefer the 9's.

I use mainly 11's on my strats, I have 13's on my Paul Reed Smith, the scale difference makes it easier to play them, and get a killer tone!

For me, it isn't so much the guage (9-42) but the BRAND and type:
GHS Stainless Steels!!!! Been using them exclusively on all my guitars for better than 25 years.... maybe closer to 30. I think my first set was back around 1980. Sure, they aren't easy to get and I've been forced to go with Boomers, EB, D'aD, etc.... but that has been rare and none of those were on very long. With GHS Super Steel strings: Nothing else lasts as long, stays in tune as long, nor keeps it's tone as long... PERIOD !!!!
> LOOK dudes; the TOP luthiers HIGHLY recommend Stainless Steel Frets.... don't they? Well, duhhhhhhh

Here's more while I have your attention:
V-Picks.... I use Medium Pointed Ultra Lites.
Villex.com .... just check into it & you'll understand.
Dunlop Strap-Loks ....... a No-Brainer!
InlayStickers.com ..... the best way to personalize your axe!
Glow-in-the-Dark dot markers .... no matter what, it sure can't hurt.
(you can find ^ these ^ on eBay)

If you had a super hot car, would you put re-treads on it? Then don't buy & use any cheap cords either. The connection between your axe & amp is GOLD! Don't kill it..... it's your LIFE-LINE.
