Oh yeah, my fav dead rock star has to be John Lennon.

It's hard to imagine anyone who had a greater impact on not only his generation, but rock music as a whole.

George Lowell was a prince...good call on Duane Allman, one of the true unsung heroes of the guitar.. I would like to add Albert Collins and Albert King...plus one of the most mis-understood guitarists Danny Gatton...a real master that few have ever known...

Two pages of posts and nobody has mentioned Jerry Garcia. I can't believe it.

I'm new to this forum, and have been trying to post a reply for some time now. I keep writing, but it never gets added. I have had Jerry Garcia on my list, but noone but me knows it. I hope by some miracle this reply gets posted.

Jimi Hendrix
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Jerry Garcia
Duane Allman
Janis joplin
Jim Morrison

To name but a few from the top of the list.

I have no idea why my posts wheren't being added. I'm not doing anything differtly now.

At any rate, my list did include John Lennon the first couple of times that I wrote it. Must have had a senior moment and left him out on the list that got posted. I guess I should put George Harrison on there also. He didn't quite have the song writiing genious that Lennon and Mc Cartney shared, but h*ll, he was a Beatle!

After you post, you can choose the option of seeing your post. if there is none, post again...good choice, but George did have some great songs that might not have been as good as John & Paul, but they weren't that far behind...Get the live at budokan CD with Eric Clapton or the Travelling Willbury's...you will see the true genious of George Harrison...

Add another name to the pantheon of deceased rockers.....

Hughie Thomasson of The Outlaws apparently has died. One hell of a guitar player.
