I'll give that a go with the missus, see if I get anywhere..."Oooh, tsk-tsk, would you look at that -- I'm going to have to change the guitar on those strings, I'm afraid... back later!"

I stopped in my local Fender dealer for some strings last night because the mom and pop I usually trade at was already closed. Too make a long story short, I ended up walking out with a new Pro Junior and new 08 MIM Tele for less than $700!

Nice...If it was old stock he still made a little money on it and you got a great deal...Sounds like you both came out well...

I like Mondo's idea... I've got 4 sets of super slinkys that need guitars....

Darn, I hate you Americans, with your darn good prices, and your guitarproducers!

Naah just kiddin',man, the best of luck to you and your guitar. Does he/she have a name yet?
If you ever find your house isn't large enough to fit your guit collection in, I'll take good care of m

Thanks, all. No - no name yet. But I will say that (to quote Meat Loaf) she has a voice like a horny angel...

Hey Trouble, I'm in the Middle Tennessee area also. Where are some good places to shop other than Guitar Center. I've been to a few pawn shops but the ones I went to didn't have much to offer. Thanks.

I'm in the 'Boro. The local Fender dealer is Chambers Guitars, nice folks.

I spend most of my time in a place called Johnny Guitars here in town. Great little Mom and Pop. I highly recommend it.
