I stopped in my local Fender dealer for some strings last night because the mom and pop I usually trade at was already closed. Too make a long story short, I ended up walking out with a new Pro Junior and new 08 MIM Tele for less than $700!

Hahaha. Oh man you need help.
Congratulations on a classy guitar and amp. I took my mex tele and blues jr for a whirl friday night quite a similar setup. Without wanting to cause a argument the tele performed live as well as my CS strat which i also used. For live work you cant beat a mex guitar that you dont have to worry about breaking the bank on.

Yeah, I probably do. I was not looking for a guitar. I have been actively looking for another reasonably priced amp so I could leave one over at my lady friend's house to get in more playing time. So the Pro Junior or something similar was planned.
But the dealer is trying to get all of his 08 stuff gone so that his customers (the ones that are less up to date than those of us on this forum) quit complaining about two different sets of pricing on what appears to be identical equipment. So he made me a package deal I could not resist.

That's a real nice Tele - congrats on your new acquisitions.

I love it - go out for strings - bring home with them fitted on a new guitar with an amp

Nice. Have loads of fun with your new rig.

reminds me of that tire commercial where they pull into the pits and the crew changes the car but keeps the tires.

A friend of mine who owns a small hubby/wife shop told me that a rep from a eastern manufacturer told him to sell off their old stock for whatever he could get for it. I think theres a lot more of that kind of marketing instigated by the manufacturer that brings a whole load of questions about profit verses turnover. Still profit whilst you can.
