i saw this guitar at guitar center yesterday and placed it on hold, (10 day waiting period for used). it is in great shape, although i play violin i am fairly new to the guitar and was wondering if anybody could help with any info about this guitar. i have searched and goggled and really can't find out any info about it. sound, quality, pricing etc. i know it is a little too much in the flashy, for some, but i just love the look of it and it fits good. so any help anybody could give me would be great. i am finding with guitars, they are kinda like tattos, you can never get enough! thanks :?

'Never heard of it but the title is intriguing to a lounge music afficionado. A piccie would be nice if Fender has one to post...

That's the acoustic with the little martini olive on a toothpick on the 12th fret right? Greenish top, red sparkle back and side?

Sinderella...
Just got off the phone with Fender and gave them the serial number off my Fender Electro Lounge and asked if they could give me some info on it since it's been so elusive on the Internet. They made only 200 units in 2004 all of which manufactured in China. It is a very limited edition made from spruce and mahagony. The MSRP is $571.99. Hope this helps with your purchase. I own one of these beauties and love it. It's also a cool conversation piece.

Rock On!

Ha! Welcome back, old thread (check the date on the first post).

'Course, since then we've investigated the subject of martinis and Stratocasters in much greater detail...

Indeed an old thread, but my research has been ongoing with this particular piece. I have found no information worthwhile on google, but here's the kicker, the local music shop that I bought it from didn't know anything about it either. So I figured I'd share what I've learned since there wasn't much out there as solid as my response. Quick question for you more knowledgable guys out there... What makes domestically manufacured guitars worth so much more than something imported? I mean, guitars are collectable in all parts of the world right? Is it something about guitars made here in the USA that increases their intrinsic value? Just wondering...

Conventional wisdom holds that the USA manufatured instruments are made with better components, both electronic and wooden, and that the finishes are consistently superior to the offshore manufacutred instruments. Therefore the USA models cost more and hold their value better. (high priced USA labor has something to do with it too).

That's not to say that the non-US made instruments are inferior. I think everyone here agrees that if it's made by FMIC, it's a quality instrument regardless of where it came from. Some are just a bit nicer than others.
