Hey guys!
I've been playing a bit of slide lately and was wondering if anybody knows how to get that first note from Don't keep me wondering? The one that sounds so close to a harp.
Have a nice day :D

Are you talking about tone or technique? Duane Allman would very often slide veery slowly into a note, in this case G. I get close to the DKMW sound by sliding slowly from F to G (linger extra on the F#) wait, gee, I'm sounding ridiculous. Tonewise I guess a guitar with humbuckers should do the trick, I use an Epiphone Dot 335.

Hope I'm making sense

*edit* I also think the first note is both Dickey bending and Duane sliding (maybe even an actual harmonica, played by Thom Doucette)

I'm talking about the technique, to get that single note(and the dampened notes before it?).

I know theres two or more guitars and a harp playing along but I've also found this lesson at gibson's website where Arlen Roth can imitate it with only one guitar http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/L ... de-guitar/ And that's my question, what the hell is he doing, can't figure it from the video, but maybe one of you guys can

The pickups isn't making that much of a difference, I played an all original '66 SG this Wednesday or Thursday, and my mex deluxe player is kind of doing a better job on emulating the sound characteristics :?

seems like he slides up to the note he is gonna play and quickly takes it back a half step while muting a little and then slides up to the first note again realy slow....

That's what I got 2, but feels like there's more to it, I don't know, perhaps it'll come to me soon
