1) To the best of my knowledge, all Gibsons are MIA with Gibson's lesser (and cheaper) non-MIA products being sold under a different non-Gibson brand (primarily Epi).
2) Contrary to this approach, Fender does sell Fender-branded products that are made from many non-MIA locations. For example, you can get a "Fender Stratocaster" that is made in the USA, Mexico, Japan, Korea, etc...

My question to you:
Do you like Fender's strategy? Or would you have preferred that non-MIA Fender products be sold under a non-Fender line (and maybe not Squier, either) more similar to how Gibson brands their lesser lines?

01 , bro , with all do respect and i mean absolutely no disrespect there are fender stratocasters made in korea ( not the bad strats the best of which would be michael kelly's vex nv , this year maybe ) ?

That's the problem with this country. Everyone "deserves" higher wages but nobody wants to pay higher prices. You can't blame the companies for it. They have to fill a certain need at a certain price or they will no longer be in business. We as a whole in the U.S. have forced companies to look for alternatives, like making guitars in mexico, in order to meet the demand for low cost products.

Yeah, I was afraid Epi LP owners were going to uprise when I typed that. In my opinion there is a noticable step down from a Gibson Les Paul Standard to both Gibson Les Paul Studios and Epi Les Pauls. That is all I was saying, and it is just my opinion. Regardless, I am not saying your opinion is wrong ... it is just different than mine.

I paid for a Mexican Strat and an American Strat and I am happy with both.
I wonder if the Japanese complain about outsourcing of jobs by Honda and Toyota here in the states. It's a two way street and we live in a global economy. Oh, and last I heard we were in a recession and shoppers aren't buying much of anything.
