To all....I am needing a footswitch that works well with a fender deluxe tube amp. All I am wanting to do is switch from a clean sound to and overdrive on the other channel...can anyone help me with some ideas? I am on a budget, but I want to get something that will last. I will greatly appreciate any help that anyone can offer! Thanks!

A friend and I did that once with some radio shack parts and coffee container lid. Worked great until the lid broke. :(

if you have a wah you dont use you can run a lead from the output jack of it into your footswitch jack. It will do channel switching on marshall 2 channel amps and it engages the fatboost on the blues jr.

If it is a tip to sleeve ground, you can make one pretty easy. $25 worth of Radio Shack parts (that includes a soldering iron) and you're there. If you want to try it....plug your guitar into your amp. Plug a regular guitar cable into your footswitch jack. Use a paperclip to connect the sleeve and the tip (separated by the black band). If it changes the channel, then you just get another mono cable, a spst switch, and a housing. Solder it up & you're done. I have a couple of links for 'how to' if you want to try it.

(you may have to have the OD channel switch 'on' for this test to work. Try it both ways)

Hi wafflewarfelcore: I don't know your amp as well as some others, but if I recall right you have seperate inputs for the two channels and no Fender footswitch option for channel switching. Is that right?

Within which case, why not simply use an A/B footswitch to select between the inputs? A few seconds searching found an affordable Behringer switch for 39 bucks:

http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHAB200

Who knows, there may even be cheaper ones out there. For a price as small as that why bother with DIY?

Of course, I may be missing some obvious vital point that others know about...?

Cheers - C
