no doubt. Ry can go. Was lucky enough to see Ry & David Lindley together at New Orleans Jazz Fest few years back. Sweet show.

Ha! Me too! Great, wasn't it?

Turns out I've been at several shows where other Forum users were in the audience. Still, nowadays we'll be able to recognise each other in our Forum Tees...

Cheers - C

Trying to work it out on my fingers - what year was that tour? ...I feel so old!

Bop Till You Drop - do we think that's our favorite Ry Cooder album? Hmm, not sure: high on the list, anyhow...

Cheers - C

Never fear, Snowy72 is here! Ry Cooder and the Moula Banda Rhythm Aces, played Glasgow SECC Sunday 12th June 1988. I've just checked the Bop Till You Drop sleve, dated 1979

A man who likes old cars and cheap guitars and is enormous as a player. It does not get any more hip than that. Ry is amazing.

The "Mambo Siniendo" album with Manuel Galban is this picker's personal fave. Mercy sakes, what a truly magnificent disk.

Phew, thanks Snowman! I looked at the record and was thinking, "surely those shows can't have been THAT long ago...?" Late '80s sound much more like it. I saw him at Wembley Arena on that tour (and on his own a year later at the Hammersmith Odeon).

Those backing singers were excellent, weren't they? That was the real deal! And what was the name of the accordion player? He was a character... Jim Keltner on the drums, too, I believe. Or is this getting too geeky now?

Cheers - C
