I'm most familiar with Eltingville. It always was a really nice town.

Spotswood is south west of me but not very far at all. I'm in Old Bridge.

I have Musician's Workshop and Guitar Center near me. Even though I'm still on SI alot, after getting used to these two megastores, I have no use for any of the stores on SI. I highly recommend Musician's Workshop on 9 North in Manalapan. It's about a half hour ride once you're over the Outerbridge. They also have an outstanding selection of parts, not to mention lots of high-end stuff too.

I owned a few 1960 something Jaguars in my time. The RIs have a different bridge/tailpiece system than the originals.

Per the one in your avatar, that's a RI. Just load the string in through the hole from the back of the tailpiece, pull it out the front and then over the bridge saddle. This wrap-over thing with the tailpiece I think you are referring to is nothing but a fad. Yet, there are some people who will argue the point to death.

im good in restringing up until i get to the headstock lol, but i have many guitar strings so if i mess one up i have backups lol.

ill tell you what not to go off topic, have you tried tuning a esp lol, this gets detuned if you tune from the pegs. i have to unlock the nuts near the headstock and i have to tune it from the floyd rose omg what a pain lol

but with the fender i should practice re stringing it

I'm quite familiar with the ESPs. Like all Floyds, the whole idea is a fulcrum system. Consequently, you tighten one, the others loosen and vice-versa. Honestly though, I was never a big fan of Floyds to begin with.

Great talking to you and hope to see you around the forums. Now, it's time fro me to hit the sack!

I found this tidbit on The Who's website: I was actually at that concert!

Dave Goessling:

At Union Catholic High School in New Jersey, we were all at that show and helped road manager Bob Pridden load the groups’ gear into their bus after the show. We were all very interested in the gear, having a band ourselves. He told us that the band had bought all new gear at Manny’s in NYC just a couple days before, and that Pete had bought a number of those Coral Hornets all at the same time. He said they were fairly inexpensive, and sounded pretty good, and they expected them to last a while and be easy to piece together after smashups.

Doc, you need to go and take a pic before it closes with your shirt on. Beat Ceri at it! 8)

Ha! That's one competition where I'm only too delighted to be outdone! Beat me like a gong, guys! I think Rhumba has already zipped into the lead from a standing start!

Big shame about Manny's, though. For the record, the fame of that shop was worldwide. Was a time when exchange rates were in a different place that any Brit visiting NY had to take the pilgrimage to Manny's to pick up - well, anything really.

Apparently, Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland called in there together in 1981 and all bought identical black Strats: Sting plays his to this day. (Copeland says they all bought matching Roland JC120s too - talk about competitive shopping!)

Cheers - C

Speaking of Stewart Copeland, he produced an album for some friends of mine some years ago ( The Silencers, A Blues For Buddha), a fine album actually. He took the guys in to Manny's, they said it was some place. It's a shame it's going, I would have enjoyed a visit myself.

Yes I think so. I know his parents bought him a tele first. It was his first Fender! There is a interview of him talking about this in Guitar Player Mag. Jan. 09 issue. 8) starting on page #74 :)
