My first guitar was my dad's old Epiphone acoustic (about 35 years old), or my dad's old Gibson 1961 stock Melody Maker double cut (now 47 years old).

Then the first instrument I personally bought myself was a Jackson JS20. Got sick of it and got the MiM I use now. :)

My very first guitar was a Kay 3/4 size beginner acoustic. The one with the musical note on the painted on pick guard. Got it for Christmas when I was 11. That would have been 1965.

I still have a Kay!!! No pickguard on it though. My first was an Applause(sort of a cheap Ovation) but pawned it for textbooks to finish college. Missed playing but was broke and saw a Kay at a yard sale for cheap and picked it up. Played it a few years till I could afford something else. My son learned on it and now my daughter is.(although she wants a Hello Kitty). Wish I still had the Applause. My main acoustic now is an Esteban but hope to get a new Ovation soon.

Some of my guitars I basically lost because I was young and stupid, two due to wife pawning while I was away (military deployments), 2 broken (one repaired), 2 traded in for upgrades.

If I had it all to do over again, I'd kept my modded Squire--I miss it sometimes. RK

And the wife?...

I'd remarry her too. She is my better half although I could have killed her for losing two of my axes but she makes me happy 99% of the time.

Mine Was a 1979 Pievy T-40.

I had to see it for Some $ when I got laid off of work.
I missed that bass. But I now have a 1980 T-40 I got in trade so it all works out.

This bass is a battle ax it weighs about 20 lbs.

my first guitar that i can remember is a squire by fender strat. Looking back on it its very short, and not as good sounding. I actually thought about swapping out the neck and pickups.
