I was given a mandolin when I was very young, it did not have all the strings. After that was a Strat Clone, looked just like a Strat without any name brand on it (it did say with syncronized tremelo). Then it was a Jackson off set V(stolen), then a Gibson V (owed someone money), then a Mako Strat clone (broken in a bad fight at my house during a party), then a Squire HM III (neck broke/lots of mods/finally used as trade on ESP LTD), then Charvell Charvette (lost it in a pawn shop), then a Knock-off Fender bought in Korea (pawned), then BC Rich Warlock (traded in for Fender HWY 1), then my ESP LTD, and lastly my Fender HWY 1 Strat. Now I just own the Fender and ESP.

Some of my guitars I basically lost because I was young and stupid, two due to wife pawning while I was away (military deployments), 2 broken (one repaired), 2 traded in for upgrades.

If I had it all to do over again, I'd kept my modded Squire--I miss it sometimes. RK

That story is worthy of a full length feature documentary!

First instrument was drums, don't remember who made them.
First guitar was an Ariana 12 string acoustic.
First electric was an Asian made no name strat knockoff.
First keyboard was a Roland D-5.
Also had bagpipes for a while, but I did not own them :)

I passed the Taro on to my brother and he still has it. Sometimes I wish I would have kept it.

I have a Taro--it was my first good guitar--I still have it. It's been through a lot--what with the headstock being snapped off--but it was repaired, and it's still a great little guitar. The rosewood back & sides are stunning. I got mine for Christmas--and it's my favorite Christmas gift from my childhood.

My first instrument was a plastic guitar which you could actually tune & play.
Then I took piano lessons--as a detour, then I bought a cheap-o K-Mart special.

But that Taro was my first real guitar.

My very first guitar was a Kay 3/4 size beginner acoustic. The one with the musical note on the painted on pick guard. Got it for Christmas when I was 11. That would have been 1965.

My first instrument was a King Trombone, and my first guitar was a Squire Strat with an amp and the whole starter pack. :D
