It must have been great the first time holding your own bass, guitar, or whatever instrument. My first instrument was a precision squier bass guitar. Its still awesome.

Officially, some generic harmonica. First guitar was a 97 Peavey Preadator. Still have it too. :)

My first guitar was a Taro classical that was given to me by my Uncle.
My first electric was a strat style "Series A" guitar.
I passed the Taro on to my brother and he still has it. Sometimes I wish I would have kept it.

My first was a clarinat, then a trumpet followed by a bass guitar and another trumpet followed a tenor sax and two strats. 8)

Epiphone strat copy. Man, I miss that guitar. Cheap, Korean, but I do miss it.

In europe they would make us play flute in music class but we've always had a nylon string at home.

Does a recorder count as an instrument? If so, that was my first instrument in like 2nd grade then i moved up to a starcaster woohoo....those guitars should not be allowed to carry the fender name

My first instrument ever was a shoebox strung with rubber bands which a sound hole cut in the middle.

My first real instrument was a violin. Then I gave up. Then a flute. Then I ended up hating it. Then a Stratocaster, which is the first instrument that I enjoyed playing and have stuck with ever since. I also play drums now, which is a lot of fun too.
