I was under the impression that, since the creation of the website, they were no longer going to publish it.

Well last year (2008), they printed one that you could buy - and they made it available (and it still is available) for free to download.

This year, they are giving them away, but no free downloadable version (yet).

http://www.fender.com/resources/catalogs.php

We can only hope that they put the new 2009 up on the site.

That picture looks like it is a Japanese tourist taking a tour of the factory and nothing more. Not too many people have ever held just a body of a tele or strat. Not sure why everyone is confused by the photo.

I looks like the device he's holding is connected to his ears! He appears to be inspecting guitar bodies.

Well again, The whole thing seems strange to some of us. I think they could have picked a better photo.

I finally got a Frontline 2009, and I see what the big deal is with the picture. You guys obviously don't recognize cyborgs that come back from the future to protect John Conner and the Fender factory from the robot wars of the future...so lets not discuss this anymore because they (the computers) are keeping track of every move we make

As far as the device connected to his ears, it just looks like one of those "Self-Tour" type headsets/devices that you can get at places like the Smithsonian Museums that often feature audio in several languages...

That's not some "japanese tourist", it's Thesis from Fender University Inaugural session Aug 2008, inside the custom shop...he's from Singapore, not Japan. The "space-aged" ear plugs are simply headphones used to hear our instructor inside the factory.

What seems strange to me in the 2009 Frontline is:
--Page 27, it looks like the components in that amp build are not being put in the way they are marked on the Printed Circuit Board...was the amp pictured just put together for the photo to be taken? Or do Fender amps not follow the PCB? Or did they take a photo of someone building one of their amps incorrectly for the catalog?

--Where is the David Gilmour Strat?

--Where are the "new" line of Fender Pedals that came out last year?

Unless I just overlooked these items in the Fender Frontline, I just find the omission of these items a bit unusual, as well as that picture of the amp build that be being built incorrectly...

.

I think the reason they didn't put that in was because it is a custom shop item only.
