Renewed cable plan for 2 years. There was a company change. I could do without cable tv to some extent, but happy wife happy life. Besides, it does make it easier to organize multiple TVs up and down stairs. We managed to get hardware and the largest TV package and access to the hundreds of channels to share on our mobile gear here and away for about 40 dollars plus tax. The Internet is the big killer, unlimited high speed, but we have little choice today compared to yesteryear before monopolies took over. It’s $100, but 300 Mbps. Definitely more money than I’d like to pay, but prices are increasing in January and I made a savings of $150 a month for two years. By that time TV hookup will probably change and the Internet will likes be the new winner in the wings. Maybe 8K will come in at a decent price. 4K has dropped a lot in price.

Hopefully, my newly emailed acquired tickets to a multi million dollar full of prizes hospital lottery will pay off over the coming year.

Guess I’ll sleep and dream about it. :D

Goodnight.

Did Canada, or at least where you live switch to digital TV signals like they did in the US? You remember the old analog TV's from the days of yore, when you had rabbit ears and all of that, they don't work anymore, unless you have a converter box. That is those that even still have regular broadcast TV like that. I used to when I lived in Florida, because I couldn't afford cable, and I really didn't watch a ton of TV, anyway. Maybe PBS, and "Star Trek" or "Poltergeist: The Legacy," or one of those shows they'd play 2 or 3 AM back in the 90's. You know, before they were filled with all of those infomercials.

Yes they did change to HDTV with the same system, Paul. Canada is pretty progressive with cable as a couple of monopolies have a good thing going, plus we have a National broadcaster (CBC) like England and Australia have theirs All of this helps to be on the leading edge though. Sometimes, it can hold you back financially with such large investments to upgrade as seen across our large coverage country, and in remote areas. Up north, HD coverage (and high speed Internet) has some issues, mostly resolved by communication satellite, which is another technology we are known for. One thing we did not do is promote local HD reception by antennas whereas I believe the U.S. had this legislated for better access for those who couldn’t get a signal otherwise, or for those wanting a choice.

My choice for the moment is to shut the tv off as I’m ready to meet the sandman.

Goodnight everybody.
