The subject is pretty self explanatory - I just thought it would be interesting! For me, being only 18 (nearly 19) the most I've got is £100 for standing in for someone a while ago.

Don't worry about sounding big headed if you earned like $1,000,000 - we just may not believe you ;)

I don't know, I thought it could be quite interesting and cool?

I tried wiring pickups today and failed miserably. Back to the store goes my pride and joy :(

Unfortunately it was only a few times a year but yeah, it would have been great if it had been that often.

£800 punkfest leeds. A one off.
The best paying gig i ever had was with an elvis impersonater when i was 15/16. £80 a night to each of the 4 musicians and the impersonater took £100. We were gigging 3/4 nights a week. A great earner at 16 still a reasonable earner now for a hobby.

Free coffee and with luck, maybe a doughnut. (When we were lead act for assorted protest rallies in the early 70's) Didn't exactly make the music world shake in its' boots, but we had fun!

Peace, Gridlok 8)
(Still cool - in my own mind)

Played a lot of those gigs. Mostly conventions and such. Doughnuts were usually stale by the time we got one. 8)

The most profitable was the '92 European tour with Soundgarden as our opening act.

(... yeah, right ... in my dreams ... Back in reality, there was one paying gig that actually generated $50 for me. Other than that, we were happy just getting free beer and having an audience. Impressive, I know...)

$200 - $250 each a night back in 1972 - 1974, and we averaged 3 nights a week, so not a bad living. In a really good week, we might pick up a 4th night. As one of our agent's two top "2nd tier" bands, we weren't getting into the hot clubs, etc., but on the other hand, we didn't have to spend tons on fancy clothes, professional light shows and all that either.

(For reference, I'd left a full time job at a grocery store when the band went FT. I was grossing about $125/week at the store so the decision wasn't that hard to make.)

The best week we ever had was one year when New Years Eve happened to be on a Friday. We got 5 nights that week (kids home from college, etc.) and we each got a $200 "NYE Bonus" at the place we were that night. From memory, I made a total of about $1,400 that week!

I get a meal for practicing with the band, and what feels like another rung of embarrassment when we have to play weekly. The band leader's idea of ready is not at all ready. But it gets me a meal on Sundays, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. :?

$800 for the weekend at a local bar. It was to be split 3 ways but the bass player seemed to feel he was entitled to $125 more than the rest of us. I quit the band that night.
