I bought a precision in the early 80's but I don't know the specifics. Is there any way I can find out about this instrument by way of it's serial numbers? Does fender give access to those records?
I know Porsche can send reports on all the cars they have produced. Any costomizations right down to the time it rolled out of the factory.
Granted, there have been more guitars produced than Porsches and Porsche is a German company... We all know what sticklers those Germans can be, but I would like to find out what I can about this Bass.
Thanks for any input.

For specifics your best bet would be to contact customer services.

http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

I think I have it narrowed down to between 82 and 84 being it's serial # is E 314395 I think the way the chart reads it is an E3+5 digits
