Brad's got some pics on Twitter.

http://twitter.com/bradtraweek/

He sent out a message on myspace. Don't know why he didn't post here but if you have a chance check it out and say hello if you have a password.

I think it's nice of him to take the time to share some pics of his office and where he lives.

Later,

Why would he post pictures there when he can post them on myspace?

There are even photo sites that look better than that with all kinds of effects.

I don't understand all this new "technology". I'm still trying to figure out why we have to post pics to image shack to get them on a forum. Why can't we just cut and paste?

Pretty soon you have so many accounts you can't remember your password or where the site is.

I have to be honest -- I'm far from your 'typical' user in the sense that the prime motivation in participating in Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc. is in making sure that I'm keeping on top of the latest crazes so that I can get ideas for further developing Fender's (and our other brands') own online communities.

Well, that's 90% of the motivation at least. The remaining 10% is admittedly about keeping on top of friends and family as well as getting the word out about Kings of Last Call.

I'm happy with these Fender forums, but phpBB is definitely starting to show its age and there are more modernized features that I'd like to better integrate into this community. As an example there's no real sense of an (optional) 'user profile' here wherein you can really get to know folks better beyond their usernames. Automated photo posting is another example, as you mentioned. The list goes on and on.

Twitter is all about quick, in the moment blogging and photography -- hence by its nature the quality of the pics that you see there is typically lower since they're frequently being taken with mobile devices.

Yes, IPB was one of the ones I was looking at. Your thoughts on that vs. vBulletin?

We've had a good experience at work with LiveWorld, advantage is they do the hosting so you always have access to the latest features, disadvantage is it's pretty expensive and takes a while to set up and skin.
