I understand this may be a risky post, and sorry if it is.. But I've just been thinking. How many people here own a firearm of some sort - I'd be interested to hear.

My father is an avid shooter and is friends with someone who works for Purdy's in London (some of the finest rifles in the world, prices are an average of £150,000 - they supply to kings and queens, celebrities and just general rich asses).

He took me there for my 18th Birthday, and we went down to the storage room, where I held the Queen of England's rifle (Oh My God), the king of Greece's, among others. And then.. (some of you may not believe this) out of the corner of my eye I saw a box saying "Eric Clapton". What can I say - my mouth dropped.

My Pop's friend said I could have a look at it but not touch it as it was in the process of being built. What a beautiful rifle. Amazing engraving, perfect wood cut and a great great memory for me to hold on to!

I thought I'd just share that with people - It's something I forget now and then but it's really quite something!!!

E.D.

As a Texan, I am required to own guns. :) But I only have two: a Beretta Neos .22 pistol and a Rossi .357 Magnum revolver. The .357 is loaded and waiting in the nightstand, so don't drop in unannounced!

I have been wanting to buy a Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine, but I don't know when I'll get around to it.

Thanks Mr. Bill!! I knew they were COLTS, but that was where my knowledge ended!! Very nice pieces!! I bet they are fun to shoot!! We have an older S&W 22lr revolver, great to shoot!! Nothing funner than target shooting!! We also like to bust a box or 2 of clay pigeons from time to time!! Talk about a good time!

Have fun shootin tomorrow, hope the weather holds for ya!

Hey Asg,

I just realized that the pearl handled job
is a West Virginia Commemorative I think
it was made in 1963.

Cheers.

I recently read CLAPTONs biography and him and his wife are very avid hunters and target shooters. It was a very good book too.

Yeah, well being a Canuck, I don't really have a desire to own a gun. I do like the precision and machining of guns - that's totally cool. And target shooting is definitely fun, (I'm not bad for a rookie.) But that's just fun stuff with a pellet gun.

As for something with a 2" barrel that is made for the sole purpose of killing a person? It's not somethng that makes me feel more secure.

That's true. I don't own one, and was told by the Texas state govt recently to either get one or move.

Ha! :D

For the benefit of non-Texans on the forum, I should point out that 01GT eibach and I are exaggerating...but not by much!
