The only thing I've seen in any chat room or forum thread that I really detest is the disrespect for the English language, using rotten grammar and terribly uneducated spelling. Sure, we all make fumble-finger mistakes and a faux pas here and there, but since you are on a computer, there IS a thing called spell check. And Yes... we also allow for those who weren't born to English, yet many of them actually type it better than those who were.... and usually, our own are the ones who just don't give a crap.

Apparently they don't realize what GI-GO means. Unless "you is re-pete-tin" a dumb joke, who will take you seriously? The sad fact is, such poor text tends to imply that your IQ only has 2 digits..... and neither one is an 8 or a 9.

However, if that's the best you can do.... well, at least you are trying.... VERY trying. Yeah... I've been told off about such 'criticism' with a come-back like: "Watts impotent is dat I gets duh meein' acrost, AH!" .... so I've gotten used to moronic chastisement. These days I see it and do my best to ignore it... but sometimes I just HAVE to post my POV and have my say. I have a right to my opinion, (even if few have the guts to agree with it) and I feel that the butchery of English IS a thing that blatantly asks for and seriously deserves vigorous ridicule...... which just MAY fend off its apparent demise until after I'm dead. TYVM !

I don't hate the Gibson Forum. I don't hate Gibson Guitars.

I DO however, have a dislike for Gibson prices and some of their marketing/business decisions over the past few years just seem odd to me. Robotic and Kiefer Sutherland Guitars? BFG LPs? The opposite of a relic finish, cause the thing was hardly finished to begin with... So I may poke fun every now and then about Gibson, but it's out of love and my warped sense of humor, not hate...Kinda of like if someone you know does something kind of odd, and you make fun of them, not cause you hate them, but because in a way, it is funny...

Why respond to someone who makes this their first and only post? (Although I liked EllenW's answer.)

And named himself after a brand of cheap-smelling body spray?

I haven't seen any hate for Gibsons on this forum, actually the closest thing to discontent I've seen has been within our own family such as which is better MIM or American. :D

heh, no hate here, cus an awful lot of us have a Gibson or two along with our fenders. This is first and foremost a gathering place for guitar enthusiasts, it has a decidedly fendercentric bent, due to owing its existence to the auspices of the fender company.

Welcome axe, if you decide to stay awhile you'll find a pretty nice bunch o' folks here.

When you've rebelled you arse off you dont mind a bit of constraint. Were all regular guys after all. Get me on any forum and i'll post the same way, i've nothing to prove. Like posting on the internet can prove how big and hard you are anyway. Personaly if i can aid a younger fella whos time is to come then i'll take it. I made enough mistakes. I'm glad for a place to aid where parental control is very little in question.

I own both, and love both for their different qualities To me it would be pretty boring to be stuck in one place. Heck, I even have some cheap stuff that I like for their individual tones, different from Fender or Gibson. I know For me I would be setting up a wall for myself if I were a diehard about it all. I don`t like the this versus that threads at all. Maybe a better word would be compared to. Each guitar has loads of strong points. They are both excellant at what they do. So whats the problem?

Both forums are good, man. I'm in Fender, and my bro is in Gibson.

Isn't that weird? :?

For the record .
The original post was not made by me.
It was a child trying to troll this fine forum and I apologize sincerely.

He has since fessed up and gave me the password so I could straighten this whole thing out....

Respectfully ...

AXE®

ps: I don't own any Fender products. And have nothing against them...

Axe,
Everyone, Axe is a very cool and knowledgable person & extremely talented guitarist. He will add greatly to any forum.

I may be a bit grumpy, but I would never come over here spewing moronic drivel such as the original post stated.

Again my apologies to everyone...

Now talk me into a Fender.... :P

Other than the "forum war" some doofus tried to start I thought both forums we're pretty tolerant of each other.

I happen to have a couple of Teles, and an old $@!. LP copy, but as soon as i win the lottery I'm getting a Gibson or two, a Taylor or two, a Gretsh or two, a Parker or two, one of those new Vox electrics, a Martin or two, and a partridge in a pear tree. Just one of those probably.

Axe: If you want us to even TRY to talk you into a Fender, we all need to know what you own, guitar & amp wise, as it goes to understanding where your head and musical tastes are at. IE: We can't take aim until we have a target...... LOL (BTW: If you don't own any Fender gear, what brings you here?)

Here's my Gear List as an example:

2008 Fender HSS Sunburst Strat w/ DragonFire pickups, Mighty-Mite Bridge and Pop-in Vibrato Arm, LSR Roller Nut, Roller Tees, Grover Auto-Locks & a Latch Switch Coil Tap - Master V - Master T controls w/ Chrome Pearl-cap Tele knobs.
2007 Fender Koa Strat w/ Birdseye Maple neck, Rosewood Fretboard, a White Pearloid pickguard and SSS Seymour Duncan pickups.
2007 Michael Kelly Hourglass Q w/ Curly Maple top & Abalone fret markers in Rosewood and all Gold-plated hardware.
2001 Dark Red Parker NightFly HSS w/ Grover Auto-Locks & 'Glow' dot markers.
1986 Vintage Cherry Paul Reed Smith 24 w/ the Sweet Switch.
1972 Maple-Glo Rickenbacker 370-12 BYRD (custom-built @ Factory by F. C. Hall) > Up-graded w/ a Barcus-Berry under the bridge & Schaller tuner keys.
2008 Dean Edge 09 Bass (Natural Mahogany) w/ 'Glow' dot markers.
2007 Dean Edge 1 Bass (Cherry Red) w/ 'Glow' dot markers.
(All guitars have Dunlop Strap-Loks)

GHS Super-Steel Strings 9-42.
V-Picks Medium Pointed Ultra Lites.
Alice Stainless-Steel Picks.
Premium Planet Waves or Monster Cables.

AMPS:
Mesa Boogie Studio 22 w/ channel-switch pedal.
Marshall VS 100 Combo w/ channel-switch pedal.
Vox AD60VTX w/ Control Pedalboard.
Vox AD30VT w/ channel-switch pedal.
Hartke 250W Bass Amp head & Carvin 4-10 Ported bottom.

HSS Strat: Fender Tweed Hard Shell Case.
Koa Strat: Fender Black Hard Shell Case.
Michael Kelly: Musician's Gear Metal Case.
Parker: StrongBox Brown 'Alligator' Hard Shell Case.
PRS & Ric: Calzone ATAs.
Dean 1 Bass: Musician's Gear Metal Case.
Dean 09 Bass: Standard Black HS Case.

FX: Digitech HarmonyMan & Behringer Hell Babe Wah Pedal.
Accessories: Calzone ATA Briefcase. (Tools, spare Tubes, etc.)

(I plan on getting Black Grover Auto-Lok tuners for the Parker, moving the ones on the Parker to the Koa Strat & getting a Villex Mid-Booster for the Koa as well.)
