I've heard good things about them. They're Icelandic right?
Yes. If you wanna check 'em out, I'd recommend the album Takk... or (). Happy Sigur Ros listening!

Yeah sigur ros is pretty cool. You really have to learn to enjoy them though, cause they make pretty mad music. At least I did.
It's great to study with and make homework while listening.
It's so calm and peaceful.
I'd especially recommend the songs "gong" and "se lest".

Anyway, I think matthew bellamy, john mayer, john frusciante (tad old maybe), are great guitarists from now.
Nikkinja, you really shouldn't be so negative, there's lots of good musical people out there, not afraid to show their own styles and techniques. It's just that a lot of things have already been done in the past.
And don't you consider yourself and other guitarplayers around you to be good and musically gifted? I know I do, call me selfish if you will, but I know/think that if you can enjoy the music your playing, whether it's yours or someone elses, whether it's your own style or your trying to copy, you're a good musician.
Ofcourse I get your point by the way, and this isn't meant as an offense, merely as a defence to all the musicians that ARE good, out there.

Alright, I'm gonna check them out tonight.

I wasn't looking for popular artists, I was just curious to know who you guys found fresh, or surpirising, etc. Could have been the new Slipknot record, (which actaully surprised me, that band matured A LOT) or your 12 year old neighbor, or some dude you saw at a bar, etc.
