You do realize that they probably didn't actually play with their teeth most of the time. They probably just did hammer ons and pull offs.

Some people do that, but I know Hendrix didn't because you can hear the *plunk* in the strings when he played with his teeth.

pulling with your teeth is just a gimmicky way to make up for lack of skill in a set IMO

In one of Hendrix's filmed concerts, they close in on a hard profile shot while he's playing with his teeth. He's really plucking them things (I think it was Rainbow Bridge).

When I play with my teeth, I just lightly bounce the flat part of my Front Teeth off the string, then hammer-on pull-off a couple notes, so about every 4th note is a "tooth note". I don't do so much anymore, I think it's a young mans guitar trick. It looks silly when an Middle aged guy showing off like that. I get a better reaction out of the old Beer Bottle Slide trick anyway.

Hi Ali: don't believe anyone who says they haven't tried it. We all give that one a go at least once in our lives!

I've tried doing Hendrix style backwards someraults while playing too. Can't do that one either! Very foolish...

I used to solo behind my head and back as part of a bands live show. It like everything else has its place. The band was a very explosive rocknroll punk band. I tried with my teeth, yeah its not comfortable and its harder to be accurate. I slipped it the tongue along with hammer-on-pull-offs, thank god for good earth's.

Hendrix did use his teeth and tongue on a 50/50 basis.
