He can't be too far away Nik, he replied to one of my threads recently, I believe it was yesterday. Anywho he sounded fairly chipper, I'm sure he'll be around soon.

Hi fella's,
Well and I didn't think you cared, have you missed me......
No, seriously a few things have been happening recently and to be honest I just haven't been in the mood for guitar stuff.
Too the point, a close friend of mine died last weekend. I'd known him all my life, he was a hot trumpet player and, well, he'd been in a bad way for some time, a brain tumour and he finally succumbed. It was in a tricky place so they couldn't operate. The operation would have killed him apparently.
Do you know ? the hospital let his band in to play all his favourite songs for him before he passed away.
A good gesture I thought.
He is the latest of a few recently, the musicians have been dropping like flies around here, the late fifties, early sixties must be a dangerous time, anyway I won't dwell on that.
So I just felt like taking a break for a while.
I've been looking in occasionally and I'm feeling more like it now, I'll be back to normal soon.
I'ts been a case of life's events taking priority for a while.
Glad to see you're doing okay Snowy and thanks for your concern Ninja.
See you around the forum..... :D
Cheers.

Yeah Snowy, I didn't think they allowed that kind of thing but in certain circumstances it seems they waive protocol ( if there are any about this, I don't know ) but he went peaceful and knowing lots of people cared. So yes, it was a great thing for them to do.
When I go, I hope a band plays me out.
Maybe Jeff Beck's band........do you think ?
Anyway, thanks again Snowy.
Cheers pal.

I hope it's not any day soon bud  I'll have a word with Jeff though  A friend of mine was taken long before his time, at his funeral one of the gang did an acoustic version of Freebird. He was exceptional that day, played with his heart. There wasn't a dry eye in the whole church, he gave up playing not long after that day :( Try and keep your chin up Rhumba, my thoughts and prayers are with you mate, much Mojo to ya.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

That was very nice of the hospital staff.
It is good to hear of compassion, and I can't think of a more fitting goodbye for a musician, and his friends.
