They get to be like family. I've lost several animals thru the years. Deepest sympathies!

I have lost many pets in my 53 years on earth and each one hurts more than the last. My wife and I honor them the best way we can by knowing that they are no longer in pain and quite possibly are in animal heaven, where they are forever young and happy. Many people don't go out and get another pet right away because they feel they are dishonoring the departed. But the truth is you can help another to have a long and happy life. It really goes a long way in the healing process. Go to your nearest shelter. A new friend is waiting for you.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your buddy Strokes, I know how you must feel right now. I lost my Springer Spaniel a few years ago, I haven't thought about getting another. I know I will someday, but it takes time man. Remember the good times, and carry him in your heart.

Condolences on your pal's passing.

We are on our third sequential Scottish Terrier. A black bass is named "Angus" and has a Scottie on the pickguard. To honour a past big, black furry friend.

So it's still possible to "play with Angus."

I'll never forget the day I arrived home and my normally energetic dog did not bark her head off when i arrived at the door (making a lot of noise in the process) She just laid there the whole time and once I got in the house my fears were confirmed. I had that dog for over ten years.

I feel your pain.

Dude... I feel the pain... If/ when my dog dies, I'd/I'll be so heartbroken.
