i have a friend who went to buy a left handed u.s strat, he ordered it from the shop and he paid around 800 pounds for it, the shop ordered and called back about a week later and when he went to collect it it was the wrong guitar!
rather than the white one he had ordered a sunburst u.s.a delux came in in sunburst and came with a hard case, does that count?
he said that the one he got was worth around 1000 and that because the shop made the mistake they had to give him it if he wanted it, so he bit the hand off them and ran all the way home to play it!

I got a Stones "Shine -A-Light" T shirt from Fender for test driving Hot Rod amps, no purchase required. Received the offer in mail the day after I purchased my Blues Jr. The GC hooked me up by filling out the offer on my next visit.

The shop didn't check what guitar they had gotten in? I wonder if the box said "White American Standard" on it? The store probably didn't pay for a Deluxe if the error was actually made by the UK Fender distributor.

I got a bumper sticker, a truss rod wrench, and a gig bag.

I didn't know they came with my guitar.

Nope, nothing free for me. Boy! Fender and Harley, too. They just don't give up stuff.

I was at the Harley Dealer with my Girlfriend (she rides, I don't  ) and she got this neat little Harley Keychain for like $9.00 (on sale). I thought that was a little steep, so I looked at one of the plastic ones in the fishbowl....$4.95! So I asked my Girl, "How much was your Bike?"
"$14,000", she answered.
"Did they give you one of these?" I asked, holding up one of the plastic keychains.
"No, it was on a little paper circle".
"Couldn't they have charged you 14,004.95 cents and dress up the deal a little with a little plastic Keychain?"
The lady ringing up her $9.00 (on sale) keychain gave me what I'd call a dirty look.
"No", My Girl says, "They don't give you nothin', they're Harley and they know it."
It was then that I realized we had just come from Best Buy, where I bought two fender shirts for $10.00 each (on sale), and was the owner of a Lunch Box bearing the images of Custon Shop Telecasters that I paid $20 for (on sale).
"Well," I said, "I guess if you want True Americana it worth paying for."
Whew! Close one.

wow, thats weird that the Harley shop didnt hook her up with some goodies! When I bought my Harley, they gave me several shirts, a really nice sweat shirt, keychains, bag full of stuff, and a $500 gift card to spend in their shop - it was the hook up!!

No Free Fender Stuff to speak of though :(

I got a free tee-shirt about 10 years ago when I bought my Accoustic but I think that was more from the shop I was buying from than an Fender thing.

All I've gotten was a Fender sticker from buying my Blues Deluxe Reissue. I still need to put it on my car too.

This is the sticker you would have gotten if you bought a Stratocaster in 1989.
