The only free thing I've ever gotten from Fender :P -

Image

I won this very nice 2008 VG Strat in Blizzard Pearl in July of 2008. Brad let me pick the color. I won this for simply posting in the forum - no purchase required.

I bought the Fender Forum Shirt

I'm happy :D

I just ordered a Fender Super Champ XD to compliment my guitars. It should be arriving in a couple of days.

Gil 8)

PS I just realized that I do get those small Fender Frontline in Home advertisements - I haven't seen one lately.

Nope, nothing free for me. Boy! Fender and Harley, too. They just don't give up stuff.

I was at the Harley Dealer with my Girlfriend (she rides, I don't  ) and she got this neat little Harley Keychain for like $9.00 (on sale). I thought that was a little steep, so I looked at one of the plastic ones in the fishbowl....$4.95! So I asked my Girl, "How much was your Bike?"
"$14,000", she answered.
"Did they give you one of these?" I asked, holding up one of the plastic keychains.
"No, it was on a little paper circle".
"Couldn't they have charged you 14,004.95 cents and dress up the deal a little with a little plastic Keychain?"
The lady ringing up her $9.00 (on sale) keychain gave me what I'd call a dirty look.
"No", My Girl says, "They don't give you nothin', they're Harley and they know it."
It was then that I realized we had just come from Best Buy, where I bought two fender shirts for $10.00 each (on sale), and was the owner of a Lunch Box bearing the images of Custon Shop Telecasters that I paid $20 for (on sale).
"Well," I said, "I guess if you want True Americana it worth paying for."
Whew! Close one.

I got all of my Fender merchandise the old fashioned way. I paid for it! Honestly tho, I've only been a member here a short while. So its no huge suprise that I've yet to win anything. And should I never win anything? Well I'm cool with that too. 8)

I got a pretty sweet Stevie Ray Vaughn poster from GC for just picking up a Strat. I'm not sure how much that was GC and how much Fender put into it, but I really dig the poster. Gil, enjoy your new Super Champ XD! I've had mine for a little less than a month, and am really loving it. I put it up against my buddie's Kustom amp (not sure of the wattage) with two 12's, and the Super Champ really held its own.

wow well here i am thinking america is the biigest commercial place in the world, and these huge organisations would enjoy FREE advertising
and give away silly little things like stickers, keyrings, t-shirts picks etc
popularising there brand, but it seems things arn't that way, are these companys really tight asses?

i visited florida last year and everywhare i went companys were giving away these free little perks even down to the supermarket (windixie i think) even gave my son a free cookie, when i ate at a resterant i only baught one coke and they refiled it three times for free, yet the likes of fender and harley give away nothing?

is it maybe the case that these things are given by fender to the likes of guitar stores for free, and in turn sold to you me and the rest of the good honest fender loving world out of greed, and self gain.

FENDER I DEMAND AN EXPLANAITION!

i say give the goodys to your loyal fans and costomers not the greedy self obsessed retailers who prefer gibson anyway!

Hmmm ... Fender just gave away an MIA Strat, Deluxe VM amp, and their new acoustic. Last summer apparently they also gave away that Strat to Gil.

Seems extremely generous to me ... not sure what your complaint is and you're not coming off sounding very good here ...

Fender has tons of giveaways too. You have to enter to win. I've been trying to win that p-bass forever.

ok im not talking about major items here im talking about silly little things,
but if you must.............

of course the gernerously "give away" some to winners they gain through this thorugh advertiseing,
how may guitars and amps did they make and sell last year?
a 100,000 world wide maybe more,
you mentioned 3 thats THREE,
they probebly threw away more than that at the factory,
they probebly gave more than that away to celebritys and ex celebritys who dont even play guitar.

anyway back to the silly little advertising freebees, the stickers, the keyrings and t-shirts etc

i worked for the u.s army in germany and as near most army bases in europe there was an irish bar near by,
on stpatricks day guiness GAVE the bar owner 100 stpatricks day guiness t-shirts to be given away on the night to guiness drinkers.............
he sold each and every one of them for 15 euro a pop.
you don't need to be a brain scientist, or rocket surgeon to work out that it adds up to FREE MONEY.
this is what i am getting at.
is this what happens with fender advertising merchandise?
any guitar store owners here?
do fender give these little things to this site?

We all got this cool forum for free. How much enjoyment have we received from that? And you know it costs Fender some decent money to run it.
