Nope, 7#9 is a chord shape popularized by Hendrix and SRV.

Example: X4345X

Of course, it's movable up and down the neck sounding better in some places than in others. Give it a go.

I like to GM chord but it's a happier sound. I have been addicted to the Bm and Em pentatonic scales above and below the 12th fret.

I also like mixing the Am pentatonic and the AM scale together over the right chord progressions.

Shredding to a kick $@! tune then landing on that root once it hits it such a great feeling!

None particular, but a bunch of surf songs use Em for its wet, dramatic effect, so maybe that one.

when i take my strat in my hand then first an E or Em, also an Amj7, Cmj7, Dmj7. i jam a bit and then i go over to my exercises.
