Hey everybody,

I have a question about the Fender logo:

1.Does anybody know who designed it?

2.Has it been changed throu the years?

Some more information will help me out very much!
thanks!

It's been slightly changed over the years and different colors and fonts, etc. I know Leo Fender's signature didn't look like that. (Which was a surprise to me.)

I don't know who designed it though.

I've heard the original design was by the Fender Electric Instrument Company. :?:

The story is detailed in Richard Smiths' The Sound Heard Round The World. Leo sketched out the original script logo, with the old-timey "F," and probably hired an artist to clean it up. When Bob Perrine became Fender's ad agency, he created a hand-drawn version of the logo that persisted for many, many years. Credit for the logo as we know it is usually given to Perrine, although he said in interviews that Leo was very picky and made him do it over several times before he was happy.

It's changed very little over the years, but you will find subtle changes when it's been 'cleaned up' since the original

That's gotta be the best tagline I've seen yet. Jimi could really turn a phrase.
