As a counterpoint to the "Worst Movie Ever" post, a change of gears. Point out some music movies that might be a rarity for other members to check out.

Obviously Spinal Tap is too well known to count. But i will start the ball rolling with a couple:

-Bad News Tour/more Bad News--The Comic Strip (comedy troupe,) put this out, the first part was in production at the same time as spinal tap, possibly earlier, followed up with an equally zany sequel(More Bad News) a couple years later.(My signature is taken from the first part.)

-Six String Samurai- Equal parts Wizard of Oz, The Road Warrior, and The Buddy Holly Story. Absolutely dynamite Soundtrack featuring "The Red Elvises"
Won some stuff at sundance.

-Crossroads. Not the Britteny Spears atrocity, but an earlier flick. Don't be put off by it starring Ralph Machio. Some killer guitar work by Steve Vai, who makes an appearance as the devils Guitarslinger.

Hopefully theres more for people to point the way.

Not a music movie per se - but the soundtrack to "Harold and Maude' is all Cat Stevens.
Works really well with the movie...

Almost Famous
The Commitments!!!!
Hard Core Logo (4 guys - 5 nights - 3000 miles - 764 gallons of gas - 987 bottles of beer - 3457 cigarettes - 1 last shot)

24 Hour Party People - Comdey take on Factory records.
Control - Amazing biopic about Ian Curtis.
Almost Famous - Already mentioned, but awesome.
Airheads - Hilarious.
Sweet and Low Down - Woody Allen movie about Emmit Ray.
A Hard Day's Night and Help! - Always excellent.
Eddie and the Cruisers and Eddie Lives - Awful movies, but I can't turn them off. :? They feature some sweet Mustang and Strat screen time though...

I have a CD by Ry that has some of the tunes form the movie - he also performed on Southern Comfort - great soundtrack on that one.
