Not sure if any/many of you are familiar with this group, So I thought I'd share. They used to record here in north Mississippi under the Fat Possum label. Anyway here's a link to their Facebook page which has a few of their songs on it. Check it out and share your thoughts.

I dig the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I have an album called "Orange".
Its got some pretty cool grooves on it.
I also have an album by R.L. Burnside with the JSBE. Super good!

I can dig some of their stuff but the live performances tend to freak me out a bit.

Saw them on "Later with Jools" which I really liked but then I also saw a song they performed on an australian music program where the lead singer pretty much terrorised the audience and trashed the stage. Very intense performance to say the least!

I like them, and I have a friend, a rock journo, who's a big fan. I never saw them, but did go to see Boss Hog, a side project with Jon Spencer and his wife Cristina Martinez. My friend was very excited because he got his vinyl copy of the "Orange" album autographed at that gig. It was in Brisbane, at that place in the Valley where you had to get a tub of potato salad every few hours before they'd sell you another beer, because of some strange food-and-liquor license regulation - anyone here from Oz remember what that was called?

I saw the JSBE in one of the PBS Blues films. It was the first time I ever heard someone play blues with a theramin.
