Getting a band together is tough... it takes so long to make it. So, by the time some of these guys achieve their goal, they hate each others' guts. I don't know about MTV, though. Maybe back in the 70's and 80's they mattered. Now, when people tune in, they don't know if they're watching MTV or the E! network. It's all "reality" and "dating game" shows now. Besides, the music scene they lend their name to is pretty lame.

I don't think age matters too much anymore, either. There's been a big buzz about Tinted Windows recently. Sure, they were each famous already. Sure, it sounds like "Smashing Cheap Fountains of Hanson", but you have almost every generation represented in there. And it sounds good.

I guess the point is there isn't any rules when it comes to rock and roll, my friends... and if there are rules, then it isn't rock and roll, is it? So hang in there and start your band up. And if that one falls apart, try again. I gave up for awhile, and now here I am at 56 trying to join a band as a bassist. (I only feel that old in the morning...)
