I'm starting to,

Guild = Gladys
Tele = (doesn't have a name yet)
Koa = Layla (Hawaiian wood, Hawaiian name)
Kingman = Ole' King

Thats all I can think of

I thought about starting this exact thread this morning. This is either wierd or cool...

I always come up with names for my guitars. My American Strat is Darla. I have had a Tele named Nadine, a Charvell named Sue, and a MIM Strat named Tancie, and many others. Don't ask me why they get these names, or why I tend to name them either old country-sounding or white trash names (it could be me just falling back to my roots).

As I play them their personality comes through and a name just comes to me. They are very personal items, so I name them. I always refer to them in the feminine.

I was going to name mine after my grandchildren, but with another grandchild on the way I would need to get another guitar................

I don't have kids, so I just call them "my babies." And I actually feed them with as much music as possible. :wink:

This is something that I actually believe in. If you name your guitar it's like your giving it a soul. It seems like the player/guitar will bond better, but I guess it only works if you believe in it though.

Since mine is mexican, I named it "Rosalita", "Rosie" for short, hehe.

I named mine Oprah... 8)
Cause I'm a man with sensitive feel..
I can't even finish that sentence :lol: no I named her Rosa.
Because as soon as they told me (the wood-type) ebony I thought of Rosa Parks (in a good way :shock: ) :lol:
And I also purchased my guitar the same day as when she died.
So it was kind of a given :roll:

I'm rubbish at naming things, maybe my jazz bass will gain a name from a friend.
