Any time we play Brown Eyed Girl we always get a full dance floor and crowd participation singing along. Fun song to play in public.

Listen to Uncle John's Band played by the Indigo Girls.

Excellent cover of a signature Grateful Dead tune.

It's available on the album Deadicated.

In Australia, there was a band called The Angels in the late 70s, early 80s (They had some other name in the USA, I think it was Angel City :? ) If we play any of their songs, people go berserk.

Another certainty for audience participation are AC/DC songs... 8)

Highway to Hell
You Shook Me All Night Long
High Voltage
It's a Long Way to the Top

It really depends on the venue and other musicians in the band. Some that I've played that have gone over well are :

Gimme Three Steps - Skynyrd
This Love - Maroon 5
Rehab - Amy Winehouse
Miss You - Stones
Knock On Wood - Eddie Floyd
Slide - Goo Goo Dolls
Whiskey Lullabye - Brad Paisley & Alison Krauss
The Old Apartment - BNL
Follow You Down - Gin Blossoms
Just Like Heaven - The Cure
Hold On, I'm Coming - Sam & Dave
Flashlight - P-Funk
My Own Worst Enemy - Lit
Santeria - Sublime

I threw in some variety besides the usual Brown Eyed, Mustang Sally, Margaritaville, Sweet Home Alabama, Jump Jive and Wail stuff.

Most of the stuff listed seems to go well for us. We get a pretty good reaction from 'MONY, MONY' and 'Brick House', too.

I believe you're thinking of Tone Loc , and we don't do any of his stuff, so I don't know how it'd go over but you should try it and then report back.
