I am simply amazed at the continues positive banter that goes on in the Lounge. I have so much fun looking and commenting and asking and learning - and the humor is fabulous. Thanks all..............

Well I am 52 and just started playing about 9 months ago - but I am having a ball!

38 here.

I think the tone of this forum has grown from the collective love the members have for guitars.

many musicians have such a love for their instruments that they want to expand their knowledge beyond the playing aspect, and also into the technical areas. For me, it was partly a love of tinkering, my love of guitars and necessity that made me learn more about the construction and maintenance of my guitars. I still learn from this forum every day.

I played a lot in Canada, and that meant being in very remote areas at times.

I mean , playing in a town a few hundred miles from the next. Nothing but blowing snow, and frigid temperatures between. If you are playing in a place where the residents have to drive for 3 or 4 hours just to buy clothing, what do you do if your gear breaks down? You have to figure out how to repair it yourself.

I remember getting ripped off by the bar owner in a really remote northern town, and being really broke, we had to siphon gas in order to make the 9 hour drive to the next gig!
