hi beaubs,

i'm 40 and started guitar playing with 27. i' m still on the way to learn more.
at the moment finger pickings and slide technic. guitar knowledge i get from
guitar magazines or a trouble shooting book for accoutics and electrics.
all small things like adjustments and pups modifying i do it by myself. what i need to know more i check out here in the forum.

for me it's not the age, it's interesting in guitars.
it's everybody thing.

Hey Beaubs,

I'm 53 and just starting guitar bought a Hss strat about a year ago and have been learning as much here as I have been in lessons. I like my teacher a lot but the people here fantastic when it comes to helping out us beginners no mater the age. This is by far the most comfortable online forum I have been part of. A great deal of that has to do with Brad and his strategy of getting the community to a point where the good forumites far outnumber the bad forumites. The members here are by far the greatest grop of people I have ever encountered. Thanks to all of them I have stuck with the guitar and learning about not only the notes and chord but about tone and depth of music.

Great thread Beaubs,

I'm a firm believer in that, you're never too old to learn something new. This is the best guitar site on the net, it's the people here that make it that way. No disrespect to Fender or Brad, if it was'nt for them we would'nt have this wonderful place to learn. It's great to be back among kindrid spirits, and friends :D

Ha ha! Yeah, I thought about that word before I used it.

ZANY:

2: a slavish follower : toady

I think I was trying to be kind.

'Got some decades on the scoreboard, but sure am not declaring "dim."

This e-place is totally hep and guitars are the universal language. How cool is that?!

Lovely thing about most forms of knowledge, guitar-iana included, is it's cumulative. You learn one thing and then anonther and then....

I'll be 50 this summer and I don't think I've learned anything from this forum. I've made so many mistakes I learned it all the hard way, and paid dearly for it too.

I am simply amazed at the continues positive banter that goes on in the Lounge. I have so much fun looking and commenting and asking and learning - and the humor is fabulous. Thanks all..............
