I hit the big 5-0 this summer and started playing when when I was 10. I've never been much of a gear head when it comes to music, I just found what worked for me and stuck with it. Then a couple of years ago when I was in the market for some new gear, I decided to really spend some time researching, including the Fender website. It was about this time that the Fender Forum was created, and I've been hooked ever since. I spent a lot of time at the beginning as a lurker (I think I joined the second day the Forum was opened), just soaking up information from the active participants. I still don't feel like I have all that much to add, but I have learned tons about Fender in particular and music in general from my fellow Forum members.

Here's a question for my fellow old farts.

Who said this:

"I'm Dim of the Yard!"

I am not too far behind some of you guys and gals in age, I'm 37 about to be 38 in May. I come here to learn new knowledge and pass the little tid-bits I know to others. Although I am not new to guitars, I am a little new to Fender's more technical side of maintence and repair methods.

I'm 58 - and still learning. I've played since about 14, but just got my first Strat (and first electric!) a couple of years ago. And yeah, this forum has been great for me! Informative, sometimes a bit zany, but a good group all in all.

..... sometimes a bit zany......

Kindly provide interpretation for those younger than us :P

Reminds me of Lois Lane's response in "Superman" to Clark's use of the word "swell"!:P
