You know, I am going on 48 years of age and the knowledge about music, instruments, guitars, basses, recording, etc., in "The Lounge", makes me feel as though I am a complete novice. I am in awe of the encyclopedic knowledge posted by the members of this forum. You guys and gals are to be commended and thanks for your continued candor and banter.

:D

Pushing 46 myself. It's the 12-year olds that especially impress me!

But it's really nice that there's such a wide range of ages here - makes me feel not quite so old, and like I've got plenty of time to learn...

I just turned 64 last month and I still a re-beginner about guitars and music.

This is a good place to pick up a little knowledge and attempt to use it wisely

I'm in the area 51 myself and I started this music and guitar stuff two years ago. It is clear to me that I can't learn all I need to know just by experimenting it. So I stick around, ask questions, read comments. I joined the Fender Forums in summer 2007 and I learned a lot of things since then.

On the post......66.5 and still pushing 18 hours days. Some of us getting to the age where we've forgotten more than some young'uns have learned yet.

The Forum gives us another shot at the brass ring. As far as I'm concerned....THIS is Leo Fender's 'technical award'. 8)

Doc

Once you think you've learned all there is to learn, you've stopped living.

now i know the reason this forum makes me smile , i'm 58 and echo all of your posted sentiments , lots of love , the bro's i've been auditioning with and now rehearsing with this year range in age from 23 the youngest to 38 the oldest they all guess i'm around 45 or younger , not many older guys on the circuit any more , rock has changed as always gotten better sure could use some aged musicians up here though (the Chicago symphony has quite a few but they stick to the classical along with the union guys & gals), thanks to you younger bro's for your patience and i'll bet you did'nt ever think that you would be teaching the teachers thank god for all of you and god bless you too.

I knew "Old and Dim" would be a category for me. I'm 53 and I've been playing for over 40 years. When I read some of the posts in the Stratocaster forum or any of the amp forums I realize just how little I know about the technical side of the instruments I play. Lots of knowledge and experience here.

I'm not too far behind you. Although there are some rocket scientists here that can talk theory like they wrote it, music is in you heart. You don't need the latest equipment to play and record. At our age we need to keep it simple like they did in the 70's and put thosse notes down hard and heavy. Because we were there and we know where those notes came from.
