Car payments are the biggest ripoff. Paying interest on a depreciating asset is just throwing money away. I buy used. Cars are made so well today that it's easy to find a 5 to 10 year old car in great shape with many years left on it. And their cheap. Plus, as your saving for a new car you EARN interest!!

There's my rant for the day

My car is an '02 Honda Civic Coupe. My wife's car is an '01 Civic Sedan. Both are fantastic cars. The fuel mileage (I get ~38 mpg in mine) is a major bonus!

I bought my first car in 1980, It was a brand new Pinto station wagon. All the cars that I bought after that were used cars. Beeing a car mechanic helps a lot and I would'nt recommed to anyone to start buying used cars withouth professional advice or some kind of relevant personal experience. We're all slaves in the hands of our ignorance, but we have the right to choose our masters.
I currently own a 1993 Dodge Spirit, and yes, I have the habit to keep my things quite a long time.

Cheers.

I still have my 2001 Mazda Miata Special Edition in British Racing Green and we have a 2004 Ford Explorer. It gets used to haul my daughter's homemade jewelry stuff (tables, displays, etc) to different Farmer's Markets and Craft Events.

We use it to go everywhere when the weather gets too much - which happens a lot in the winter up here. Last year we had snow on the ground from Nov 11 thru the end of March. :P
