Not the all of them just Glen Frey. Don't get me wrong the Eagles are one of the greatest bands of all time and I'm not fit to tune thier guitars but Frey just bugs me. Not bad enough to make me quit watching them but still. What happened to Don Felder? The new guy they have playing lead is freakin good! I've heard him on some other stuff. Rodney Crowler and others. Anybody else feel the same way?

When the Eagles played our local arena a couple years ago, I noticed Frey and Joe Walsh didn't even look at each other on stage. A friend of mine who's in management there told me that in Joe Walsh's contract, their dressing rooms can't be anywhere near each others. And this guy witnessed an almost "fist-fight" between the both of them in the hallway! So apparently Joe Walsh can't stand Frey! And that new guy,(I don't know his name) but, he was as you said "freakin good", I kept watching him all night! :D But....Joe Walsh IS very entertaining.

Just checked out their web site plus the wikipedia entry - the guy isn't even mentioned anywhere. Guess he's on loan?

Frey and Henley are a couple of egotistical dullards.

They're OK. I'm not a big fan of 70s southern Cali country rock/pop.

They're good players and certainly have the hits.

I was always confused as to why Walsh joined this band.

Stuart Smith is the new guitar players name. He's not an Eagle just plays for them. I was watching Farewell 1 last night. I really don't like Frey. Henley doesn't bother me that bad. One thing I noticed is that it almost sounds like there may be some other guitars playing that you can't see. For the most part it seems like Frey is doing very little and all the lead stuff is between Walsh and Smith but if you watch it's like there's something else going on. Maybe not but I know Henley aint playing anything. I still love their music but I bet they are some of the biggest jerks in the world.

No, I'm not annoyed with them at all. Try to imagine yourself playing with the same band for several decades, with sold out arena shows, lots of hit records, high maintenance characters and egos, excellent musicianship and keeping your sanity. I think they've survived fairly well.

Steuart Smith is a monster player and top shelf musician, but not a member of the band. http://www.steuartsmith.com/

Randy Meisner, one of the founding members, wanted out for family reasons.

From wiki -

"In 1971, he, along with Henley, Frey and Leadon, formed the Eagles and they released their eponymous debut album in 1972. The success of the Eagles brought an end to Meisner's session work, as well as his involvement with the Linda Ronstadt band. While he usually manned the bass and handled backing vocals for the Eagles, he also played guitar on Desperado, On The Border, and Hotel California. During his stint with the band, he wrote and/or co-wrote songs on each of the group's first five albums - most notably "Take It to the Limit" on One of These Nights - and was featured as lead vocalist on several songs.

Meisner's time in the band was reportedly weighed down by his desire to be with his family. According to ex-Eagle Don Felder, Meisner constantly threatened to resign. After the release of Hotel California in 1976, Meisner made good on his threats, citing "exhaustion" from touring. He would be replaced by Timothy B. Schmit, coincidentally the same bassist who replaced him in Poco."

"Bernie Leadon left the band in December 1975, having been unhappy with his standing in the band and the constant fights with Henley and Frey who had begun to take command of the band, as early as 1973. Thus it was Leadon who brought his old friend Don Felder on board as an Eagle for the "On the Border" album in case he wanted to leave the band in a hurry. He was replaced by guitarist Joe Walsh. According to a 2008 interview with Don Felder, Leadon also left to spend more time exercising and taking care of his health. He also expressed a desire for the band to take some time off and when Henley and Frey opted to continue the heavy touring schedule, Leadon bowed out."

If you think that playing with the same guys for the amount of time that they did, along with constant travelling doesn't cause any emotional issues then you should give it a try!

First off. I said they were great musicians. Secound. Some people are jerks as you so called me. A person in which you have never met. I've known world class musicians and some of them are some of the nicest people in the world and some are kind of jerks. Just like regular people. It's just my opinion that Frey would be a jerk. Someone who is the nicest guy when in public but behind closed doors wouldn't even shake a fans hand if it didn't put some $ in his pocket.

I love their Music. In my opinion they are the greatest American rock band of all time.

Frey just rubs me the wrong way. That's all.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

In the past, The Eagles always said that they would only reunite when Hell froze over, so either that happened...or the Eagles realized that Hell is not going to change itself for the Eagles, but by saying that, they probably got a nice paycheck to get back together for that first reunion tour, since they pretty much said they never would...Then I guess they just realized they can like each other enough to tour and record as long as there is enough money to make everyone forget why they broke up in the first place 8)

And without Glenn Frey, we wouldn't have had that great 80s hit on the Miami Vice (TV show) soundtrack, Smugglers Blues...so wait, you're just getting annoyed by Glenn Frey now?

I'm really annoyed now because I just Googled Smugglers Blues. That song sucks! I haven't heard it in years and forgot about it.
