G&L were started by Leo Fender and George Fullerton (the designer of the strat).

Yes their excellent guitars. Ive a dream of one day owning a comanche with zcoil pickups.

True Leo Fender and George Fullerton were making other guitars and designs through CLF Reaserch making them for Music Man. Then in 1980 they started a new company called G&L (George and Leo) so they could continue Leo's fender designs and they brought in Dale Hyatt from Fender to take over the Adminstarative end plus sales.

BBE owns G&L now and in the 10 years Fender owned it they only made like 25,000 guitars. The are very nice guitar to this day!

My church has one. It's very nice, but somebody needs to take more care of it.

Maybe I'll feel sorry for it someday soon and adjust it's action... clean it off a bit... and baby it a bit. But 'til then...

I certainly know the right person to 'take care of it'.

Mac, adopt it mate. You'll be doing yourself a favour.

G&L's are great. I've owned two basses, an ASAT fretless and currently an L-2000 fretless. I'm now looking to buy an L-2000 fretted to match. I'll be selling my Fender Hot Rod P-Bass to accomplish the new purchase....
