i really want to go to the fender university, it sounds really cool and something that would mean a lot to me. but i can't because i am not 21. i think this is stupid and that fender should offer this to younger people. it would be such an amazing experience for some one my age to go to fender U. i think that fender should make this available to any one 13 and up or something like that. if they have some reasons why a minor wouldn't be aloud to do it they could have some special form that minors and their parents would have to fill out, or something like that.

what do you guys think, I'm sure I'm not the only person who's under 21 who wants to go to fender university. and if there are any of those fender admin guys around could you clue me in on why I'm not able to have the experience of a lifetime. i mean come on! going to fender U when your still my age would be like going to Disney land for guitarists.

I'm not exactly sure why there is an age limit for Fender U, however, since it is a 5 day event, I am sure that this may be due to there being a number of liability, insurance, and other issues regarding unaccompanied, and possibly even accompanied, minors...Also, I know a lot of times that due to dangers, risks, and liability issues that many factories will not let anyone under the age of 18 on or near any of the production lines, floors, and/or machinery...Besides, in this time and economy, if you and/or your parents had $6500 to spare to go to Fender U, I'd invest it in gold or a college fund or something

That and maybe the Fender U is more for those who are closer to the professional level. And for people who really need a cool vacation, away from their jobs.

Also, since it's a yearly event (though I don't know how long it's gone on), it's not really a "once in a lifetime event."

i know Fenders intentions are to have an all ages or just teen program, this being the second session, during the school year i think that it makes more sense to keep it 21 and above.your right it is a fantastic opportunity no matter what your skill level, the staff and artist are top notch and it will be one of those milestone experiences. Fender is still tweeking the program and from my observation adding stuff to it ,like a whole extra day ,more artist and more jam time.yes ive been and yes im going again so it isnt just a once in a lifetime ,but i can allready tell this is something thats going to get better and better

yeah i guess you could go more then once but at that cost i would probably only end up going once. but also like some one said it's more of a milestone in your music career and i guess that is more of what i ment.

I was thinking they should limit it to over 35 and just Canadians--and make it free. :D

Seriously though--they must have their reasons--don't worry--there are other opportunities to develop your playing.

For me--I can't afford Fender U--if I could--I'd be looking into it.
